We are hoping to work with the Ed.Tech. department to offer courses for teachers/administrators in Illuminate, SAGE Summative and SAGE formative.
I am also interested in learning to use Adobe Connect effectively.
It has been a great class! Thank You.
I will try and incorporate Canvas in my first period class. I hope this makes class management easier and I hope that I can use this tool to provide my students more authentic experiences in school. This seems like an awesome experience.
I am planning to record my lectures, have the students watch the videos, answer a question of the day as a discussion, and hopefully I will be able to do some quizzes if I can figure out how to import some question banks.
This class has really been an eye opener! I have a health class starting 2nd sem. next year. I think that it would be great to start using canvas for this class. I also have a lot of contract classes that would be easy to set up students.
I really got overwhelmed with so much information in the one hand. However I think I am going to use it eventually with my students. I am planning to explore more during summer. Thanks John!
I will be using Canvas in the Digital Print Design, Screen Printing, and Production Graphics Course to provide demo's and quizzes to my students. This will help me align better with my current class.
I plan to use Canvas as a tool to hold my social skills lessons. I will be leading some counseling groups on social skills next year and might be able to use Canvas to present some of the lessons in an online format prior to allowing students in my group to practice/role-play what they have learned. There was a lot to learn and I'm sure we could have spent a lot more time learning about features and using them. I am glad I learned the basics of Canvas and hope I have time to continue developing the Social Skills Canvas class I created today.
This was a great class. I took the class mainly because Molly suggested it but never thought I would use it. I am now excited to use Canvas for my Advanced sewing students next year because the school didn't schedule a separate class for them, they will all be in with the beginning students. With using Canvas the students can get the information or lectures on their own while I'm teaching the beginning students and then I can help them with their actual sewing.
Since I won't be instructing next year in Salt Lake City School District, I think what I would like to do is learn from taking the 4 online classes that I've enrolled in this summer, to better understand what it would look like from the instructors end. It is actually kind of fun to set up with the Canvas Learning Management System. Thanks for training us!
Because I teach music and I'm a traveling teacher, some of the applications if many classes are different from from many other subject areas. So with Canvas, I'm not quite sure yet of how I will use it until I play around with it more. I may use it for sharing teaching resources with teacher who want to learn how to use my teaching materials or students as well. I like the rubric feature and I want to play around with how fast I can use it and how long it takes to set up if I have more than 200 students. I liked the eMedia and the Adobe links that were shared. I am definitely going to play around with those resources as well.
Please respond to the blog that I've specified for your training and/or class. Mahalo!
